Re: Modern Amish Transportation

To the best of my knowledge, the 1995 Tercel was the last production year Tercel that offered a 4-spd manual and the 1996 model came with a 5-spd as standard equipment. I still miss my old 4-spd to this day!

Re: When 5 gears just aren't enough

The clutch was light, kinda like what you'd expect in a passenger vehicle. It engages near the top of its travel and has to be let out slower than you would in a car, or else the truck will lurch forward (1500 ft-lbs torque). You have to do no-gas starts in a truck with that much torque or else you ...

Re: When 5 gears just aren't enough

Floating the gears is surprisingly easy once you get used to the lack of spring tension in the shifter. It's way too easy to miss a gear by hitting the wrong gate (you can see it happen in the video). What I found interesting was that floating was easier than double clutching. Not looking for a care...

I'm still around, but mostly on the IRC channel. Daily driver is an automatic Corolla and weekend beast is the old 5-spd Celica.

Another old time lurker!

You and I need to drink a few beers again and go do some shooting. Well, maybe not in that order, but yeah.
Definitely! We could try the new indoor range.

I took my CHL (LTC?) class on Sunday and it was pretty cold outside (for Texas). Had fingerprints done today and now the wait begins!

Lol Rob, I was totally expecting that response.

I picked up some Hornady Critical Defense at Academy today and haven't had the problem. Looks like I found my new defense ammo!

Re: Who here shoots? (Gun related)

Tony, have you ever had failure to feed issues with hollow points in your Shield? When chambering the first round from a full magazine, it nosedives and gets caught on the bottom of the feed ramp. It works flawlessly after dropping the mag and removing the first round. I didn't see anything visually...

Re: Who here shoots? (Gun related)

Things to expect: - you will have major holster wear on the gun, mostly from where the gun's finish rubs on the kydex side of the holster. The leather side of the holster will also wear the finish off the corners of the slide, but at a lesser rate. This, of course, doesn't affect the performance of...
