Re: Your Latest Purchase

Last thing I purchased... $700 worth of horse shit for the Z rebuild. Most all of it being crap like hoses and stuff. Still no regrets with the Z purchase? Not one bit haha. It's such an incredibly fun car to drive. Although I am looking into getting another vehicle of some sort for daily driving. ...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Well I got to drive two badass cars tonight. A C6 Vette (not a Z06) and an '03 Porsche 911 Turbo. Vette: Bulky. Hood was FAR too big, and felt like driving a slammed suburban to me. Not particularly responsive or nimble feeling. Build quality sucked, but hey, it's an American car. However, the V8 is...

Ah yes I realize now that saying deleting the PCV system would easily imply I was just sealing it off.

Silly me. Yes, some sort of breather/catch can apparatus will be in place.

Re: Modified clutch stop

Yeah I wouldn't do it...

Too easy to be at a point where your pressure plate is putting just enough pressure on the clutch to allow the transmission to shift out, but still be spinning. Great way to blow shit up.

Re: Engine Kaboom :/ (with pics)

The 4 wheel steering is nice at low speeds, but makes the rear end feel twitchy at high speeds. Also, it runs of the PS so deleting that means deleting 4WS. EGR: Actually won't have to retard my timing. The EGR on these cars is only active basically when cruising at under 3k rpms. So really not very...

Re: Engine Kaboom :/ (with pics)

Ah damn, they're on my Z forum. Must be weird. Will try again. PIcs are pretty brutal. Deleting the power steering because it's leaking like a mofo, and to make room for a front mount/single setup in the future. Also, I'm going to either use an electric MR2 pump or go to a manual rack if I don't lik...

Re: Volkswagen Corrado

I love the Corrado. I tried desperately to get one for my first car, but around here (the DFW metro is a big ass place) there wasn't a single one for sale. Even when I sold it and bought my second car (the Z), I still looked and there were none.

My friend had one and it was f**k fast.

Engine Kaboom :/ (with pics)

Hey all. Know I've been absent, but thought I'd make some time to head back here and see what's up. And what better way to make my return than with a catastrophic engine failure!!! Who likes pictures? http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o104/eaglecatcher/300ZX/zrebuild/241719_219069628115003_10000035...

Re: Top 5 most expensive cars owned by forum members?

My Z was ~$36,000 back in 1990. Which means in today's bucks it's ~$60,000.

However if I were to sell it today, I'd probably get $8-10k for it. I paid $7500 for it but I've done several thousand in parts and several thousand in labor as well.

And now, what I do: Still in school, but I work in biology research. Been doing it since my senior year of high school. First gig back home was neuron development/maturation, or "neurogenesis." That was pretty cool, and we should have a paper coming out in Nature Neuroscience soon. I spent...

Re: What do you do for work?

Nothing at the moment. Well, technically I am employed as a valet but I haven't had a shift since July, so... Right now I'm looking for work, in TX preferably. I have a BS in electrical engineering. I just started applying last week, though. I had been going to graduate school. I'm still enrolled, ...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Adding a second Z to the fam on Tuesday I'm pretty sure.

My little brother sold his 66 Mustang (royal POS), and is now buying a non-turbo Z32.

Funny how we both went from Mustangs to 300ZX's... Coincidence? I. THINK. NOT.
