Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

I was in the car and in an unfamilar area last night when it was time to reset the clocks. I had SATNAV going at 1:15 and the durn thing told me I'd arrive at 3:03. This made no sense as the journey was to be about 50 minutes give or take. I started getting agitated until I realized the car resets ...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

"yes hi i need a tow for my maserati" but why do you have the cheapest level memebership? 5 miles won't get you to your dealership...also why didn't you call *them* for their roadside instead of calling aaa? everyone is worried about damaging your ghibli....

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Al-ooo-min-yum shift knobs, plus heat, plus direct sunlight = ouchypoo Not when you put a sock/wristband over it. I actually learned from Mr. Type S that he puts a sock over his shift knob every time he parks and so do I. I did it more or less when I was beginning so I would remember when I got bac...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

I don't personally do it, but I've heard of it before. Did this happy lady have a keyless ignition? Many of those require a step on tje brake before they'll start. probably. also our triage/dispatch doesn't have an option for "hybrid system failure". I get to put it under "engine fai...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

In unrelated to car things does anyone here play Golf? Starting to migrate it into a hobby.. and would appreciate any pointers and tips! Seems very intimidating for newbies... Don't hit anyone with your club. Don't swing it like Happy Gilmore. There are certain clubs for certain shots. I do...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

question: I've been called "weird" by co-workers for putting my foot on the brake to start a car - auto or stick. Is this a thing that i gleaned from driving stick or is it a real thing auto drivers do too??? It came up because a lady couldn't start her car, driver came out and started it ...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Be careful, particularly if it's a genuine cargo van bereft of windows behind the seats. I had to rent its GMC cousin on a business trip. Not only did it have no center mirror (which wouldn't have shown anything anyway), but the side view mirrors had a narrow field of vision and lacked the travel t...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Oh man. i get to drive a vehicle next week. a 00'ish chevy express 2500. AWD/RWD. thankfully there is no snow. it has a/c. and a large TRUNK/rear section for moving. I am moving (staying inside GR). it's (obviously) automatic.

When you will have many patients who will be non-ambulatory and/or in less-than-full possession of their faculties, a low, wide drink container is more difficult to spill and a small one makes less mess if spilled. having worked medical - this. people with shaky hands or who easily drop things...sm...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

hey tony, you used to off road, right? What does a 0-10 grade mean? I had a member in lime creek colorado, he said he was 3 feet down a bank. the 006 (colorado) club said that if he's 3 feet down a 0-10 grade it may be out of pocket. we don't have much rock crawling off roading here, only mudding.....
