Now all that power is back there, what keeps the nose down? I've
heard the Fiero has some positive lift built into the nose at higher speed.
you'll need the old engine in the boot to keep this rocket down.

Re: Upshifts too smooth?
It could also be a heavy stock flywheel. Nope. A heavy stock flywheel would result in an approximately steady but slow RPM drop that begins immediately. Rev hang holds the RPM exactly or bumps it up a little, then once rev hang ends, it drops however fast the flywheel allows. In the Rabbit, rev han...

Re: how long to perfect launch technique?
Every car launches differently, there are varied techniques on getting a car rolling. My current car has very low torque at low end, and a 'grippy' clutch. If I tried a low rpm launch, it wouldn't be pretty. This car needs 12-1500 rpms on a steady throttle launch to be smooth. This car responds much...

Re: How do you feel regarding carrying a knife? Other people?
Ahhh...so people should walk around with a box cutter strapped to their side.... There's an obvious disagreement as to what a knife is. A boxcutter IS a knife. It has a shorter interchangeable blade, but it is still a utility KNIFE. If there's any question as to how lethal a utlilty knife is,...

Re: How do you feel regarding carrying a knife? Other people?
There are many uses for it on daily basis. At least for me. you keep saying that but you don't say what you actaully use it for in a day to day urban/suburban setting. Here's an obvious example. Go buy ANYTHING, then try to get through the packaging without a sharp knife. A knife is a very useful a...

Cool, RX-8 rims. Now, you need a drop  Funny you should say that...I was looking into RPM Streets, but I've got to talk to someone about rolling the fenders. I've got issues with pulling out the fender wells, it's my daily driver, and it rains a lot in Florida. I want that piece of plastic IN...

Re: Left Lane Idiots
Here's an interesting theory, by moving out of the left lane, and letting the psycho pass you, it's more likely he'll get caught for speeding. Holding him up in the left lane will just piss him and you off, and no one gets a ticket, just an ulcer. I'll always get to the right regardless of how fast ...

Re: revs fall too fast on a Single Clutch Rev Match Downshift
It's kinda funny, because most performance cars have an intentional fast drop in RPMs, to quicken shifts.... Personally I don't see the need to downshift from 2 to 1, because 2nd gear is low enough to use from a slow roll. If your engine braking, IMHO it's better to run 2nd down, the pop into neutra...

Re: Automatic revmatching manual. Wait....what?
I'm tellin' ya the clutch is like an Assault Rifle. Most people don't want them, fear them, and want them taken away for good. The people that have them know they have a good thing, and get pissed every time others try to ban them, or take them away! Our ever lazy, more technically incompetent socie...

Re: Should the car always be parked in gear?
I would use reverse, but with the 6 speed, I've got that bull s--t push down reversre,
which is a major PITA. There are times it won't even go in reverse, gotta roll the car
a few inches....last stick I owned was a four speed, and I always used it.
