well the cab mounts were non existent on the back and come to find out the frame was cracked and about to break on the drivers side so i sold it and 2 weeks later it broke a u-joint and snapped the frame

There's a user on this forum, I forgot his name, who has a 1500 with the 4.3 and 5MT, and he says it's fine. I'm inclined to believe him, it's probably fine...shouldn't be driving a truck too fast anyway. I'm sure it'd be pretty lame for heavy towing though. thats what i meant was it prolly wouldnt...

yeah the 4.3 in the s10 is a hell of an engine but in the 1500 i imagine its not so peppy

What happened to the Ranger? What year is the S10? I've got a plethora of S10 parts to get rid of if you're missing any. As for the auto...I'm not sure if the 4.3 was available with a stick, but if it was then it probably wasn't common. Should be easy to convert, the same engine was definitely offe...

kind of a combination of the cracked frame and me being able to lean against the back of the cab and tip it about 6 inches off the frame which is prolly why the frame cracked where it did and the fact that the oil pan rusted through and required pulling the engine to replace it

nice slight necro anyway the $500 ranger died back in may sold it for $300 bucks with a cracked frame and no rear cab mounts and bought a '98 s10 few weeks later for $1000 its got some rust but thats no big deal. the guy who bought it fixed the frame and 2 weeks later snapped the front drive shaft a...

The NV3500 from an S10 with a 4.3 might solve all of those problems but its bellhousing is not removable. Thank you for that information. John and I will be looking for one of those soon.
