Re: My Biggest Pet Peeve: Timid Drivers

Driving in boston and near Boston is fun-you need a fast car, but it is fun. I hate driving there cause you guys are sadists-the pothole situation is criminal, like somebody could die from those damn things you call roads. BTW have you driven in NYC? More specifically the boroughs where true madness...

Re: Another Day, Another Idiot Driver (Misc Thread for Stories)

Any of you guys remember the accident on the Taconic? The one where the stoned drunk woman went the wrong way and killed her whole family? I live right next to it and saw it the day of. I hadn't been alerted to it so when I drove home I was all "WTF  "

Re: Burnin' Rubber...

1) Go to parking lot
2) Practice getting moving in 1st with no gas, yes it can be done easily. Be light on the clutch and it'll slowly take off!
3) Add a little gas after you get no-gas starts
4) Your done, keep practicing!

I wasnt pulled over per say, but the cop was there when I got out  He at first was a dick, but calmed down and turned the issue into one of safety, which he was right about.

Re: Ever thought you were getting pulled over but got lucky?

Ha, I've had so many damn encounters with the 5-0 that its ridiculous-I've been pulled over in a Go Kart, Taken back to "county" for candy korn, been let go by a cop or two, blew by one @ 136 in a 65, and go pulled over and ticketed by a cop who made a number up out of the sky...Orrr the o...

Re: performance chip

i was the one who said if the wastegate was shut you wouldn't go faster. but obviously you missed what i said so i guess ill say it again. if the wastegate is shut (therefore spooling the turbine as fast as possible) at low rpms the boost threshold is pushed farther up the RPM band (because the was...

Re: performance chip

To track this again; 1) If you fuse the WG shut, it'll spool faster, and develop boost faster, and therefore accelerate faster-in this regard, the person who said shutting the WG would result in a slower car you=wrong. An open wastegate makes the car operate as an NA car, in my case I am way short o...

Re: performance chip

I have no idea, and I am being sincere, why in heavens name you would want lethargic, doggish behaviour, with horribly fuel economy, and minimal acceleration all for the sake off.....an idea? A sensation? Some weird self gratification? It would seem you should get an old tercel or something wickedly...

It can do all of that and more, and of you call in the next 1......... seriously, if you get live dashboard (free as well) and hook your laptop up via a canbus you can do anything IN CAR, while it is running, in fact it even concerts to liters per hour when you are stopped.

Re: performance chip

Saabs have the only free, open source, comprehensive tuning software on the planet-bar none. This plus it is relatively easy to do. The only bad part is that it is very addicting and will soon take over a significant portion of your life as it did mine. I'd be in class and tweaking my maps and drool...
