Re: No more stick-shift Acuras

Would buy another manual were the price right and if it had power windows. Roll up windows are pretty much almost extinct. Not a single compact car has roll up windows anymore. Even in the subcompact class, the last subcompact to have rollup windows -- the Toyota Yaris -- has standard power windows...

Re: No more stick-shift Acuras

Sad. Prior to the ILX, Canada had the EL from 1996 to 2005, then the CSX from 2006 til 2011. All sold very well with a good manual take rate upwards of 20%. Then the ILX came along which was no longer Canadian exclusive. For some reason sales started tanking midway through the CSX's generation. The ...

Re: 2014 Toyota Corolla

I test drove one for a bit. CVT is like any other automatic, I'd rather get a stick shift. Very nice interior, lots of room in the back, but I the seats I found a bit lacking much like my old 2008. I drove it in the city so didn't get to test its handling. It should remain a top 3 seller.

Re: 2015 Honda Fit announced

I've been lurking until someone complained about having 6 cogs. Oh no he did-n't!

What's wrong with needing to downshift to pass people? We drive manuals, not autos.

Re: Should You Buy a Car With a Manual Transmission?

Good reason to buy a brand new car with manual, even though it is financially wiser to buy 1-4 year old used.

Re: Should You Buy a Car With a Manual Transmission?

I wonder if the fact that more Americans drive to work per capita and their commutes are longer as well. Europeans tend to bike or take transit to work so their cars are reserved for evenings and weekends when driving manual is a lot more enjoyable. At least that's the perception. I don't think driv...

Genesis sedan or coupe? The sedan has always been auto only, the coupe manual or auto.

Re: 4WD manuals

Good catch! Some of the info seems outdated, though. For example - just eyeballing it - I don't think the 2013 Hyundai Tucson or Genesis is available in stick even though the Buying Guide (currently) says it is. They are if you can get past the salesperson trying to sell whatever is on the lot and ...

Re: A new subcompact car to compete

I showed my wife the Mirage and she's in love. I showed her competitive cars in the price range, Spark, Versa Note, Fiesta, she's still wants the Mirage.

Re: Turbo Hybrid....or Hybrid Turbo

$32k in Canada for the Leaf after any tax credit, plus we live in a condo so would be stuck charging at 110V. The iMiev is $26k. She'll be using the car a bit driving for meeting friends and running errands, but tracking her car usage the past few months, she drives maybe 120 miles a month for perso...

Re: Turbo Hybrid....or Hybrid Turbo

DSG only... at least it has a multi link rear suspension. If I think hybrid, it'd be the Prius. We're considering getting a Prius C in a few months for my wife who's now doing a paper route, the frequent stop/idle/start is killing my Mazda 3's fuel economy. We need a second car anyway. CR-Z 6 speed ...
