Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 will get its flat-six and six-speed manual back A prototype has already been spotted testing in Europe, and CAR magazine expects to see a detuned version of the 4.0-liter flat-six currently found in the Porsche 911 GT3. Even better, the 4.0-liter flat-six is expected to be pa...

Re: Honest Engines

Made me think that we ought to draw straws at work and loser (Winner?) has to drive through the flock without slowing or swerving to avoid hitting them. After a while, they will all move to the backcountry to get away from the crazy city drivers. The large 50mph main road near my house has a sectio...

Re: Shifting into second as soon as you get rolling

They Should Have Carried Broad Collusion Coverage! German automakers are in a world of trouble with European Union authorities. WardsAuto reports that Audi, Daimler, BMW, Porsche and Volkswagen are accused of violating anti-trust laws and are facing fines of nearly $60 billion. The collusion, which...

Re: Honest Engines

Speaking of Birds being underfoot, I drive past 50 or 100 Canada Geese each day. They make no effort to turn back or cross the road more quickly as my car nears. It's as if they know that I won't hit them. I beep the horn, I rev the engine, but nothing seems to faze them. They continue to waddle pas...

Re: Honest Engines

Was fine with me, I am not fond of heights. Do you share similar feelings for widths and/or lengths? ....depths? Depends. Depth is an issue as in canyon depth if I am standing near the edge. Width is fine as is length. I also don't like airplanes (or birds for that matter) flying overhead. May have...

When I was on that urban forestry job I once drove the F350 dump truck (cool truck with 4 speed floor shift and creeper gear) a few miles in traffic with the wood chipper on a pintle hook that was wide open and the chains not hooked up. http://www.talkclassical.com/images/smilies/eek.gif Cudda bean...

Re: Honest Engines

Most of the jobs I see listed say you need a CDL though... Where it's not a legal requirement the insurance company probably gives them a break for having it as a company requirement. Could be a way of sorting the wheat from the chaff. By asking more than what you need, you may keep out minimal per...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

i've had my iphone 8 for what, a month, now, and already dropped it at least 3 times. 8) You need to get the "Sky Hook" app - a little parachute is 3-D printed in the nanosecond that the phone senses it's in free-fall and the deployed parachute slows the rate of decent to something that's...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Hey all- I come seeking some advice and takes. Remember how I went in for the promotional interview that I spoke about over a month ago? I didn't get that- but it was announced the reason why I didn't get it was because they wanted me to wait out for a new team (originally centralized in an out of ...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

My dad came over to start the festivities because I was delayed on my way home so I don't have an accurate count but I think there were the usual slightly-over-100 customers. My excess victuals supply was small enough to be making me nervous at the end of the night and easily consumed by myself the...
