Re: Start and stop driving uphill
My truck's first gear is not synchronized (and on downshifts it isn't synchronized at all) Oh, I just realized that there would have to be a synchronizer on both the upshift and downshift side of the gear selector doo-dad. You could also try this radical idea: Set up another meet down closer to you guys! Get some SS meets everywhere Anyone living in the southern states interested in this? I'm in Louisiana right now and know some good camping places to go closer to the gulf coast. Not that I wouldn't go a little furth...

Re: My Biggest Pet Peeve: Timid Drivers
If you guys think the roads in Boston are bad, come down to New Orleans! 'Pothole' would better be called 'Mattress hole' some of the time. Boston drivers are some of the most aggressive. Does this make us the best? Because I certainly think so. In every other place Ive been, people are completely u...

I wanted to buy one of these a few years ago, they're really durable 'thangs. And I love cars and trucks that look all block-y. Oughta be nice for Minnesota..

Based on the sort of short trip I just took, I'd make it about this far: http://www.mapquest.com/maps?1s=NY&1y=US&1l=42.911781&1g=-75.668198&1v=STATE&2c=Columbus&2s=OH&2y=US&2l=39.961102&2g=-82.998901&2v=CITY#b/maps/m:map:4:43.175518:-80.395309::::::1:1::::/l:...

Sorry about the quality, it spent a few years buried in mud. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_oNsRR_T1Qx0/SYdu1dLCWrI/AAAAAAAA...

And drivers who know more about their rims than about their cars! (- but still brag about how nice theirs are, simply because it was made last year).Oh how I love a story of old school vs. rice. Old school always pwns!
The hell with their stereos that make the surrounding ten cars vibrate.

Re: My 1972 Ford F-250
Weight in the bed will make a huge difference, even with crappy tires. With weight in the back (i.e., everything I own) ? COMPLETELY different truck! I could go up hills without a hitch, or I mean, without needing to be pulled by one. The bed was full enough that I didn't need any snow, but I'd hav...

Re: My 1972 Ford F-250
Does it have 4WD? Blaaagh, no, it doesn't, unfortunately. I wouldn't do it that way. Throw some BFG ATs and call it a day. Excellent in snow, good road manners and wear like iron, unlike snow tires. And they are rated for severe snow. Best all-around truck tire you can buy. I ran a set for 35k mile...
