Re: Does anyone have a list of 2018 cars w/manual transmissions?

I've ridden in the Forester. I Feel like the seats are really shallow.

I'll be honest, I was tempted by the Outback with the automatic. Or even the Legacy.

Wait, you can get the SMART car with a stick?

Also, I've been looking at the Subaru Impreza lately. Trying to get back to basics.

You can't get the Mitsubishi Lancer with a stick? Not sure why my eye pulled to that car lol

Last time I checked you can't get the Focus hatch with a stick. Unless it was an ST/RS. Only the sedan has the 5 speed offering. I think you can still get the 1.0l with the 6 speed as well.

Re: Finally got another car

Hmm I don't think its the clutch as a 1-3 shift works alright.

I've heard good things about the redline fluid as well. I'll definitely have to change the fluid if I plan on keeping the car. Though this was kind of one of those purchases I did just because.

Re: Finally got another car

Amazing how terrible the gearbox is in the winter. I've done some research and many people complain about getting locked out of first and second when the gearbox is cold. What's funny is sometimes I get locked IN first gear. Makes for some sticky situations. Like almost getting T-Boned a few times b...

Re: Where can you work on your car?

I was in a parking lot and someone was doing a fuel pump. He had the tank dropped and all that. Did not envy him whatsoever. I would fear that once you start the job, they'd tell you to get lost halfway through.

Good Responses guys. Appreciate the insight. That's one thing I hate about renting, you almost lose the ability to be self-reliant.

Re: ClutchDisc's new ride

Nice car! I love the Focuses. You got a good motor, timing chain, DOHC plenty of power etc.

I've got an Auto one in the household. I hear the passenger motor mounts are common to go. Easy as pie to do though. Other than that, been pretty good!

Re: RomPirate's new-new-new-new car

Well, new to me at least. I've been looking at getting another car for some time now. Took a look at the Fiesta ST, the FR-S and some E46's. I'm a shade tree mechanic that happens to like tools a lot too, and my other cars have been so darn reliable I haven't had a good wrenching in some time. It o...

RANT: Photobucket broke DIY auto repair threads

This happened a while ago but I guess Photobucket updated their policy. Now if you've linked your photos to any forum via Photobucket you get this: http://assets.pcmag.com/media/images/546259-photobucket-3rd-party-hosting-broken-image.jpg?thumb=y&width=300&height=299 Now a majority of the DI...

Re: Where can you work on your car?

I never claimed maintenance worried me. I just wondered what solutions are out there for that issue.

I probably would do an extended OCI if I was doing a >10k mile road trip. Get me one of those super synthetic oil filters etc.

Where can you work on your car?

If you live in an apartment, where can you go to do things like Oil changes, brake pad changes, engine swaps and other automotive related things? I also recently became interested in Overlanding. If you're on a long road trip, where can you change your own oil or do any other maintenance while on th...

Re: Finally got another car

I'm happy to hear the positive thoughts. The spaceball shifter is kinda nifty. I will admit, the extra gear makes for a bit more of a challenge to determine which gear is right.
