Re: how do you feel about stick shifts with frills
In very basic. I'm used to regular 4 speeds and 5 speed seems like a lockout thing you have to physically move to engage reverse is just something else to go wrong.

Re: how do you feel about stick shifts with frills
I haven't owned one manual car that had it. If you aren't smart enough to not shove your car in reverse while going down the highway than you need to probably drive a slush box.

how do you feel about stick shifts with frills
What I mean by this is the cars where you have to push the shifter down to go in reverse or some cars to go into first. Or the types where they have a collar you pull up on to engage reverse like in the Chevy cruze. Do you have a preference on where reverse is in the H pattern? Anything else that gr...

Re: transmission noise and annoyances associated with
That's weird. The underguts in mine and yours are the same and I bever had those issues. Then again I may not have been as tuned in to it. Next time you are in it really listen once its warmed up. And push the clutch down and it'll go away. I'm told by others it's normal but I'm not really sure. It...

Or do you have an ST, which is a different animal and would render my point moot.
I have the regular base model focus. And when it's cold you barely hear it but when it's warm it sounds like a little helicopter.

I get to hear it every time I pull in the garage to. You would think a new car wouldn't sound so embarrassing and annoying.

transmission noise and annoyances associated with
I've had a dozen or so manual transmission vehicles. The best stick shift I had overall as far as lack of quirkyness was Saturn a series after that I'd say my cavalier and my old 4 speed sentra. None of these are fast or cool but they all shifted well and didn't have any major quirks. No muss no fus...

2014 focus Trans fluid
My focus calls for dtc fluid. Does anyone know of any other fluid I can use to improve smoothness even more. I've noticed a minor amount of increased effort when it's cold outside until the fluid gets moving a little bit. Nothing major but experimenting with high quality fluid sounds fun. All advice...

Of course it is. I wouldn't buy anything else had to have it special delivered for me because it was a stick apparently they aren't very common.InlinePaul wrote:Looks good. Main thing is it's a stick!

brand new focus
I bought her yesterday had to have it shipped from a holding facility because it's a stick she was built on Aug 1st and never sat on a lot. Very fun to drive very nice shifter feel and clutch. My 02 Saturn sl head cracked and I decided to move on it has cost me quite a bit in the last few months. I ...

Re: New beater truck
What is the rear end ratio do you know kinda interested in knowing that. I kept missing 3rd and going to 4th I would hit second. I caught myself and stopped it but it's easy to do. Very tight pattern
