I shouldn't have said rest their foot on the clutch, but I get what you mean. But if you are slipping it while lets say going 75mph in 4th gear and the engine is revving at lets say 7000RPM. When it is slipping it would be having a caliper stuck in the grabbing position. Right? So that would wear it...

correct me if I am wrong, but my basic understanding is if your using the clutch as a foot rest and its slipping the entire way down the highway, That would be determined in my eyes as dragging it heavily. So if the clutch is not adjusted right this might happen. I think slipping it heavily with you...

I have another question, I truly appreciate all that reply, I really do. I was just wondering, when its raining out, why does it seem harder to do. Like today it was hard to get a smooth shift. I eventually got it but it was very difficult. Why is that?

Your shocks seem fine but they wouldn't cause the lurch. If they were gone, you'd just bounce down the street after hitting a bump. Every manual car has lurch when shifting. I bet you that if you were to ask most passengers about it, they would look at you somewhat confused and wouldn't be sure wha...

Did a test on them by standing on the bumper sorta and trying to bounce it...does it in good time..about 1.5 times about both sides.

sadly I only drove this car when it comes to a manual. The thing that kinda steers me into the direction of the cars fault is cause my father had the same issue...I wonder if the rear shocks are crapping out cause I can compress them kinda easily where as on the Ford Focus my parents now own I can n...

So I was doing some tinkering around...and the more I messed around the more I found that no methods work...I still get this lousy lurch. I drove with someone else the other week and I could feel absolutely no lurch...if there was one it was subtle. It was a newer vehicle though, and it was a truck ...

Are you sure that you need to get rid of it? It is inevitable that transitioning from accelerating to coasting, which is what you do when you step on the clutch, is going to cause a lurch.
