they should implement torque converters that can unlock themseves from the flexplate so that doesn't happen. although i guess thats a loss of power while shifting huhtheholycow wrote:Most automatics will shift into 2nd pretty harshly after taking 1st up to redline, too.

dont worry, im probably not going to take any better care of this than i did my truck. maintenance-wise i will, but im still gonna be beating the piss out of this thing. i haven't gotten on it that hard yet though (as i don't want the wheel to fly the f*ck off)

no, your correct. my dad always taught me that if its really slippery out to slowly launch it in 2nd because its easier to fine-tune how much (or little, in this situation) torque is hitting the wheels.

We lives a lonely life. But yes, I also give it a little bit of throttle as I begin to release the clutch. Depends if you have torque or not. Friends diesel vw...
