From what I've heard, high performance brake pads give off much more dust than regular ones.screenname wrote:BMWs are notorious for coating their wheels with brake dust. Good theory, Daywalker :D My theory is that they expect the daily rain (it does rain everyday down there, right?) to keep the car clean, plus people are spending more time these days inside their cars rather than outside looking at their cars from the outside, so they might think to clean the inside...

I would say you should both let out the clutch and add gas more quickly, meaning get up to the friction point quickly (so as to avoid rolling down the hill) and get on the gas by the time the clutch is grabbing.
