Went off the road for the first time last Nov.

Hey guys, been really busy with work and school. On Nov 22nd I was driving into work in the early morning, left extra early and was going pretty slow because freezing rain had just started. Well I'm doing 30 mph on the hwy, (roads weren't too bad yet) and come up on a curve... road right there was a...

Re: How much damage do these beginner mistakes cause?

I wouldn't be trying to "dump the clutch" yet.... you are still learning. Also a huge tip for you: Don't look at the tach while you are learning, don't worry about getting exact rpms. This will become a big crutch for you to the point where you relying on the tach to be able to shift. I do...

Re: Best learner MT

I agree, just get a car that will be cheap to maintain and has a nice feeling clutch.. I would say one that isn't too stiff and not too soft. Something in between is better. Remember if you are going to be teaching people how to drive a manual, the no gas launch is your best friend! The method that ...

Re: How to transition car back into gear from slow rolling?

I personally wouldn't go into second at 5 mph... I would use first and ease it back in with a little gas kind of like when you are taking off from a stop, only you are already moving. It takes a little practice, but you will get it!

I've never had a tach... I learned by feel and sound. I don't really ever want a tach either.

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Moofasa, aren't you the one that has told me about the DuckDuckGo search engine? The new iOS 8 update allows that as one of the default search engines for safari on the iPhone. Didn't you say it uses google's search results but without the tracking, basically? Or am I thinking of another one? I may...
