There's no way that FT-HS would even come close to selling in the US. First, look at the exterior. It's way too "unique". Although it's refreshing, and kinda cool, people don't like to go against the grain. 'We' like all our cars to look the same, that's why all the major manufacturers have what look like clones of each other driving around.
Second, look at the interior. WTH? It doesn't look like it belongs on this planet. It's basically the Toyota Taurus. (Hope John'll get a kick out of that. )
The fact remains that people who bought Toyotas 10 years ago and people who buy Toyotas today are two separate groups of people. The Toyota people today only care that it looks tame, timid, and with a "refine" shape. If the new Supra looked like the G35, people would buy it, because it has that familiar shape and style. If it looked like the afore mentioned FT-HS, no way in hell. No Toyota buyer would be interested, save for the people who really want something new.
So I'm not holding my breath on that crazy design.

Hell with the warranty, I'd rip out that flappy automatic, and replace it with a 6 speed, even if I had to pay somebody to build me a damn transmission to replace it. I've actually seen some good lookin' supras out on the road, and I'm gonna say it straight up... A flappy in a supra makes me want to freakin' cry...
Rip out the dang thing, and put in a stick, even if it has to be manufactured... That's exactly what I'd do, damn the cost...
(I hate manufacturers phasing out manuals... dammit...)
</rant>
(by the by, I'd pick the Corolla to win over the Echo, any day. Maybe it's just because I like the Corolla better. Or maybe it's because everybody I've ever seen driving an Echo doesn't know how the hell to drive...)

Its a hybrid its not the new supra i know that for sure, i was talking to the toyota rep at the autoshow last year and he was telling me its a concept for a sportcar/hybrid and when i asked bout the supra he said there was nothing in the work for a supra.paul34 wrote:Actually, the new Supra (if Toyota isn't just playing everyone...) would look more similar to this:
it's the FT-HS concept.
And no, no manual tranny folks. Yay flappy automatics. Some Supra
However, there's just something about these wheels that I love...

Obviously, it would NEVER work on my car, or really any I can think of... but man they would be so great on a car its meant for. Like this concept, I guess haha.
