Cars you would like to see
Are there any cars you would like to see with updated factory work done?
For example, I think Hyundai should throw that 5.0 Genesis Sedan engine into the coupe. That thing would be a beast.
Turbo BRZ is also another.

Put a stick in every car? Beyond that... nothing at the moment, though I'm sure if I were out looking at cars/driving right now, I would have answers.

Put a stick in more AWD crossovers! Right now, pickings are very slim. Outside of Subaru's lineup, you could probably count on half-a-hand the number of vehicles meeting those criteria.

Give me a Tacoma-sized pickup with a 4 cyl turbo diesel, 4wd, 6 speed manual and an extended cab with ability to sit people in the back but smaller than a full size crew cab.
Oh and I want that for under $25k.

It's not TRD, but for the 10th anniversary of Scion (aka this year), the FR-S and tC had some customization. Limited edition type stuff. Extra lights, glowing badges, few other changes.six wrote:TRD FR-S

Ugh - Scion has enough meaningless customization. The new tC already looks faster than it is. It needs more go and less show, so that it can transition from a sorority girl car to something people would actually want.Squint wrote:It's not TRD, but for the 10th anniversary of Scion (aka this year), the FR-S and tC had some customization. Fox body Mustang 5.0 5-speed basic model with crank windows.
Ford Ranger, Chevy S-10, the smaller, older Dodge Dakotas, all with crank windows and manual transmissions and 4-banger engines.
Full sized pickups that are the size they were in the 80s, not the bloated monsters we have today, and all offering inline six engines and manual transmissions (and crank windows).
The retro Thunderbird that was out for a few years in the 2000s, but with a 5-speed and 5.0 pushrod engine.
All the nice body styles of the late 60s, early 70s, sporting either hot V8s or robust inline six cylinder engines and rear wheel drive with manual transmissions.
Motorhomes built on pickup cabs instead of vans so that you would have an engine bay, and offered with manual transmissions.
Column shifted manual transmissions: 3-ON-THE-TREE!

What about a pickup with a truck camper? It's probably a little smaller than a common class C but it's got some other real advantages besides the engine bay, and you can still come up with a few 1-ton pickups with manual transmissions (I think Dodge is still offering one, besides buying used).Motorhomes built on pickup cabs instead of vans so that you would have an engine bay, and offered with manual transmissions.
While searching for that, I found exactly what you asked for, though:

Anyway it shouldn't be TOO hard to put one together using a more common Class C body and a pickup cab-chassis...you could probably even just request it from your preferred Class C motorhome company.
Or you could go bigger without hitting Class A, with a Super C:

The retro T bird because they were dogs fitted with a wimpy V8 of about 262 cid and I want to get one to be a sleeper.
Yes, there are a few pickup cab motorhomes, but far between and then likely with automatic.
The other thing is why every GM chassis motorhome build on a 1 ton van cab is a Chevy? I would love to have the GMC, just think they look better.
Another option and I saw this at a campground once was a guy had a manual transmission Chevy pickup with a fifth wheel camper.

The differences are sheet metal, and depending on year maybe just trim. All of it bolts on. Easy, inexpensive conversion.InlinePaul wrote:The other thing is why every GM chassis motorhome build on a 1 ton van cab is a Chevy? I would love to have the GMC, just think they look better.
Sure, or a travel trailer, but you asked about motorhomes.Another option and I saw this at a campground once was a guy had a manual transmission Chevy pickup with a fifth wheel camper.
Fivers can be heavier and tow better, but having the entire bed available for firewood, grill, bicycles, fishing gear, kayaks/canoe, jacks, blocks, tools, etc is nice if you can come up with a sufficiently sized travel trailer that tows well.
