Private forum
Can we create a private forum? Why not just create one which is invisible to unregistered users, and in there anything goes?
Then we can clean up the act in the public forums.

Re: Private forum
that sounds like a good idea but all it takes is to see the private forum is to sign up. its too easy
what would be better is what we have over at toledotuners
public visible forum
established users with gray names
respected members with blue names. respected members turn respected after a moderator or admin decides to make them respected and sets up a vote for all the mods/admins to vote. if it passes, that person gets respected and a blue name, that way your post count doesnt mean anything besides the size of your penis.
respected members, mods and admins have access to VIP section
then the mods which have all their mod shit, deleted forums, etc.

Re: Private forum
Yeah but then we would be excluding those who don't have respected status.

Re: Private forum
thats the whole point. you dont want random noobs and people like sonyad in the respected forum. all the forum usuals that arent mods would pretty much automatically go respected

Re: Private forum
I have to say I'm a bit vain about my post count, I've spent a lot of time on this forum and it shows there.
So I would use that as a last resort, yes.

Re: Private forum
I hate private forums. With the exception of the Members Only forum on NESA. Since I paid a membership fee, I feel deserving of that little source of extra private information.

Ever ban anyone on Howardforums?paul34 wrote:I'm going to disagree. The forum is too small, relatively speaking, to have a private forum. I think Rants & Raves combined with a derivative of Roman's suggestion about member color-coding. I think we're ok as it is for now. SonyAD may have been a slight nuisance but he didn't drone on. Honestly I wouldn't have voted him out but so be it, I am not a mod, at least at SS anyway.

Re: Private forum
I'd say negative. Couple of reasons. One, I don't want to deal with any legal issues, nor do I want to deal with any issues with the ISP (ie any porn, autodestruct your account).

Re: Private forum
+1, now there's like 7 different places members go to to do the same thing. WTF? I miss the misc thread. What's so hard about following the rules? They're not that outrageous.six wrote:What has this board come to? I hate how SS has become.
