...now I can't put any image in my sig at all. It says "It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image" no matter what image I use or where it's hosted.

I'm not that familiar with phpBB. How does one manually enter the sigpic image dimensions? I assume I add some kind of tags to the IMG tag?

Quite reasonable indeed.

Perhaps a little short for some. Like mooman and his FAQ links

And carsncars now has a signature. :lol: I should write a review of the MINI after finals (it's coming up to its first birthday!).

Edit: Nope, I get the same "unable to determine dimensions" (or something to that effect) message. Perhaps this might help: http://www.ktuk.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=2785

Agreed on both counts. Unfortunately, bbcode tags are counted as part of the text length, as is the URL of the image if an image is used. I had two FAQ links and an image and ran out of space.

I'd like my sig to look like this:
FAQ 1 | FAQ 2 | FAQ 3 | etc
{Funny quote}
{sigpic, usually less than or equal to 600 pixels wide by 200 pixels tall}
That takes a lot of text, though it doesn't display a lot of text. Also, with the culture here I might usually use a smaller sigpic than that.

I guess Standardshifter will have to check that one next time he's on .
Damn... It'd be... Wow... I'm actually afraid to make this suggestion, but...
It'd be nice to like, have another channel on the IRC server specifically for like, a spot to sound off if any problems come up, but I'm not too sure Standardshifter would be keen on that one.
But, if there's any problems in existence that we're dealing with and he hasn't seen yet, he'd know pretty fast.

alright. most of the time.
Look, I'm sorry for putting that big ass picture in my signature, but I was doing it to make a point, and I wanted the admins to actually do something. I apologize if it caused you an inconvenience.

I appreciate you calling me out actually. That way I can correct myself. If I am ever an ass, just tell me, so I know what I'm doing wrong.

50 characters more is still not enough. Make it something like 1000.

Now I'm getting a problem with the image. It's saying:

It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image.

Why 1000 characters? Someone might lolwall their signature.

^ 1000 is too much. That's almost the length of the first-year physics lab reports I'm marking.

I think 150-250 is reasonable. This site basically is a FAQ, and there's a link to said FAQ at the top of every screen. That and the search function. A few links is enough in a sig. If you want to fit more links and the URLs take up too many characters, just use a URL shortener. And if you still need more characters, that's probably too many links anyways.

I would like the image-in-signature function to be fixed though... hint hint.

...and then they'll be told to stop or their sig will be edited, just as if they put 100 characters of lolwall or 100 vulgar characters or 100 characters of hate speech.

URLs (even shortened ones), bbCode tags, etcetera can really make a short visible sig into a many-charactered sig.

Thats what? One paragraph. Maybe a page at most? I was writing minimum of two or three pages per lab report back in high school.
