Way to get the name out there
I think we should be able to buy like a window cling of the Standardshift.com logo. I think it would attract attention and would bring more people to the site. Plus then we can spot each other on the road if we see each other.

At the risk of offending the creator of the logo, I have to say that it could be a lot better. Something more artistic with a gearshift pattern in the logo would be a huge improvement.

Maybe something like this....I know it's lame, but I threw it together in about two minutes. But this is my general idea:

It was attempted nearly 5 years ago. Nothing happened.Shadow wrote:Maybe something like this....I know it's lame, but I threw it together in about two minutes. But this is my general idea:

Wow....long before my time. Too bad nothing was ever changed though.
I do think a gearshift pattern incorporating the name of the site is a great idea for a logo though. Looks like six had the same basic idea five years ago....LOL

Re: Way to get the name out there
Threads about swag, stickers, or promotional items, have been popping up here and there since this site's inception. We then proceed to get excited about all the ideas, and then nothing really comes out of it... half a year goes by, repeat the process...

Re: Way to get the name out there
Mr standardshifter wont respond to our threads. We cannot legally use anything related to standardshift (logo, name) w/o.standardshifter's approval.
We have been promised stuff by him years ago. Nothing happened.
If it's not gonna happen, I just want a straight answer. That's why I'm a little bitter. Hell, it's not like we want free stuff. We will pay for it.

Re: Way to get the name out there
Odd, I remember being a part of that conversation but I don't see any of my posts in the old thread... maybe there was more than one occasion where it came up. I had a lot of fun playing with the idea and came up with a few variations on a logo back then. May as well repost:

^^ Those look really cool, I dig them
Well, I don't know if any one here actually knows who he really is, perhaps except mitchc2 and maybe IMBoring25. He posts once or twice in a blue moon. Mostly posts news articles in the news section, and of course, in this section.Shadow wrote:LOL....thank you Captain Obvious. But who is he? Re: Way to get the name out there
Okay...but what screen name does he use? Maybe I have seen his posts. I've definitely seen IMBoring, but I don't think I've ever seen mitchc2.six wrote:^^ Those look really cool, I dig them

Edit: Nevermind....I just looked at the stickies and realized that "Standardshifter" is his screen name. At least I think that must be him.
