You Tube Posting Problems

Post by ClutchFork »

Sometimes You Tube videos won't post up as an image, but only show a URL line. Usually can get it to work if I get the shortest You Tube linke, but today nothing will get the video to show.

Post the link you're having trouble with.

It needs to be this format to work:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VXEDUVkbt8
^HTTP, not HTTPS
---------^www or not, doesn't matter
--------------------^youtube.com; I don't think those youtu.be ones work
-----------------------------------^"watch?v=" means it's a video link, not a playlist or anything like that
-------------------------------------------------------^videoID
---------------------------------------------------------------------------^Nothing after the videoID

If you have it in another format or with other crud in it, you can just use the URL above as a template and replace the videoID with that of your video.

Encase in [youtube] tags (typed manually or using the youtube button) and you have an embedded video.

Thanks, it worked. Had the https so I just deleted the "s" and it works fine. I'll keep this thread in my back pocket for next time.

The other thing woudl be nice to post a video to begin at a certain point, but that does not work.

Just posted in "Return of the Thread" if you want to watch it.

Oh yeah, ha ha that insanity test is funny!

I love this one too:
