2000 Celica GTS (tiptronic automatic)

Post by Hatchman »

The car belongs to my brother-in-law, located in Mississauga. He's asking $13,000. (I've advised him to revise this figure, but...) The car is loaded: leather interior, 6-speaker AM/FM/CD, sunroof, power everything, paddle shift (it's an automatic with tiptronic), alloy rims. The car is very dark blue. It has about 100,000 km. The interior is mint, and the exterior has the usual little dings, all minor. Winter rims included in sale. Winter rubber should be replaced.

Who would in their right mind my a Celica GTS with a slush box and ask for that kind of money? If it's a BMW 540, I get that, but a Celica?

he's talking $13000 CDN. It's a reasonable offer.

By the way, my brother in law finally sold his Celica. I think he got 11000 for it, thanks mostly to my ebay listing on his behalf. I never liked that car, and I like his current Solara even less. Reminds me of a whale. Anyone remember how small Camrys used to be...?

Remember the Camry coupe? I'm not sure if CA had'em, but I'll see them around occasionally. That'd be fun with a V6 and a 5-speed.

Thecelica would have been good if it was a stick... but the solara... do those even come in stick form?

Yes, but it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack. They exist, but nobody owns one.

Also, I went to a Toyota/Scion dealer to look at the tC, and I saw ONE stick shift Solara on the lot. Most of their Corollas were automatic, and they didn't have a single stick shift tC in their inventory.
