I've heard and read that Escorts are one of the few cars Ford pulled off with pretty good reliability and customer satisfaction.

Happy to see you got the car you wanted 8) I know how it feels.

That's one reason I bought a Toyota over a Honda. AFAIK, all Hondas have interference engines. That reminds me, I hit 120k a couple weeks back so I better get that belt changed! :P

^Does that necessarily mean the timing belt will need replacing? This can't be, as my FiT does not require it.

My car requires that the belt be changed every 60k miles. The maintenance intervals on your car may be different. Look in your owner's manual and it should tell you. But yes, the belt has to be changed else you risk possible engine damage.

Hi - saw your ad and I have a 1998 ZX2 that I want to sell. It's only been highway driven and faithfully maintained. Most major expense was the set of new head lights about 1 year ago. Has been an excellent car.

I've had four cars since I posted this.

I had a zx2 and crashed it two years ago this January!

And yes! The Zx2 is an awesome car. I loved it to death! Pulled strong and got awesome gas mileage. Just as reliable as my Toyota was!

I know it seems strange, but Ford is well thought of in other parts of the world :)
