On the lookout for a Wrangler.

Post by AHTOXA »

This is another place to look. I'm planning to buy between now and spring time. Already keeping an eye on Craigs list and the like.

Need an early Wrangler. '90+. No limit on mileage but must be driveable at the very least. Soft top preferred. $2500 max price.

Looking to use this as an off-road toy only. Stick or auto does not matter but stick is preferred.

Great work, John! You must be bored. :D

I'm hesitant to buy from dealers for the most part. I want to keep it private.

Reasons:

1. Dealers will lie anyways because they don't know the history of the vehicle.

2. Private sellers will BS you too, but they may tell you what the history of the repairs was, at least to some degree.

3. You can negotiate private sale much better than dealer. At times private owners are more willing to sell than dealers. Shit happens kinda deal, you know.

It only took 5 minutes. Don't be afraid of dealers - you can get a pretty good deal from them as well. They'll deal, especially on an older vehicle like that. Also, check out auctions in your area.

Yes, auctions are a good bet.

My trusted mechanic shares a wall with a car auction buliding. He sees what goes through there and what new arrivals come in. I asked him to keep an eye out.
