Let me clarify. The shift timing feels a lot more natural. The RPMs fall very fast compared with the Rabbit. Even through the LS2 is a DBW, it does not carry the bad habits that most cars equipped with DBW have. With a clutch like a light switch and a nervous driver in heavy Florida traffic trying to get that beast home with no experience driving a manual... GTO clutch is not a light switch. It's not sloppy by any means, though and it's quite light.

It may the the cold or whatever I've got going on but I'm not sure what you mean.
The teg's clutch is stiffer than the Goat's, yet the throttle pedal is more sensitive. The goat's throttle feels stiff and seems to have more resistance. I get all confused for the first few seconds of the drive between the two.

But yes if they stopped selling cars with standards I would keep my current car for as long as possible and probably grab up another older car while I still could.

Old cars rotting in the driveway is not a good plan for always having something decent to drive. Those of us who really want to drive manual will always have someone willing to build and sell what we want. At worst it becomes a special custom thing rather than mass-produced.
