I tell myself I'm in an automatic, but it never seems to work. I always push my left leg down when I start a car .

After 7 months without driving a manual, I still do that when I'm not paying attention.FDSpirit wrote:I tell myself I'm in an automatic, but it never seems to work. I always push my left leg down when I start a car .

the entire reason the "semi-automatic" transmission was invented. still entirely an automatic but you can shift the gears up and down if you want. then theres the ricers driving automatics with a PRND321 gear shifter who shift through all the gears to make everyone else think the bucking while accelerating is because they're driving stick...horribly. people make me want to punch babies.paul34 wrote:Gated shifters were a progression after the "sport shift" trend got big a few years back. Everyone wishes they drove a manual, but they don't at the same time.

I hate linear shifters. I much prefer the zigzag ones.

I've only ever had one bad incident with that. Broad daylight, but I was the only one on my street at the time, nobody behind me. The whiplash was quite amazing though. I didn't even catch the damn brake pedal with my foot, I full on slammed it dead center. This much I can vouch for. The brakes on that Impala are quite strong.AHTOXA wrote:Been there, done that a few times.Jastreb wrote:The worst is when you forget you're in a slushbox and you try to clutch in as you're coming to a stop. Everybody/thing in the car goes flying forward because the brake pedal is so wide you actually hit it with your left foot. I've had that happen to me a couple of times/
2013 Ford Fiesta + a bike and a land yacht which are in pieces.

I remember this being posted in my News Feed on my email page. I sent a link to my Dad.
His response:
"Let's all start building our own cars with the government crap. It wouldn't make much of a difference."
