I know quite a few people myself that are north of 40 and used to drive manuals in the past, however now they just don't want to. They don't even present any lame excuses such as traffic and what not, they just plainly don't want to.

I have to admit that I'd rather have an auto trans in an offroad wheeler because it's beneficial for rock crawling. The drawback is that it gets heated quite a lot, especially when it's protected by skid plates and covered in mud.

I did run a trans cooler on mine but it still gets fairly hot on long, tough climbs.
