Born from Motorcycles

It was nearly eight years ago when we first heard about the HondaJet, a light aircraft that would revolutionize travel. It would be easy to fly, seat a family or more comfortably, and would be relatively fuel-efficient.

It takes a long time to certify a plane for flight.

The Honda Aircraft Co. said on Tuesday that the HondaJet has completed the next round of tests by flying up to an altitude of 43,000 feet. It also reached a climb rate of 3,990 feet per minute.

The HondaJet uses an over-the-wing engine-mount configuration that improves efficiency and performance by reducing drag in flight. It also allows for a more spacious cabin and more cargo capability.

It's a sensor to collect performance data for the flight tests. Production models should not be so equipped.

As an aircraft technician I can provide the maintenance free of charge for our SS jet.
Two pedals, two feet, too easy.

Other than the obvious "if you get anything wrong, you're pretty much guaranteed to kill someone", how much different is repairing/doing maintenance on an aircraft than a car?

You actually have a slim chance of getting anything wrong seriously enough to kill someone. There are a lot of safety nets in place to prevent maintenance accidents. Even if you do get something wrong, there is usually a safety or back-up for a system or component. At my level, no maintenance I do can be signed off as a release until someone higher up checks it and signs it off as well.

As far as the maintenance itself, some aspects are easier than on cars and some are harder. It's easier because you have maintenance manuals that outline everything you have to do and how to do it. It's also harder because there are a lot more systems you have to know about. There are also many a tight spots to get into to do the work.
