Notice how the belly-pan smooths the underside for improved aerodynamics
DODGE DART MAKES COMEBACK
Dodge is teasing us with its new-from-the-ground-up replacement for the Caliber, and its digging up an old name from the past, the Dodge Dart. This 2013 C-segment model is built on a modified version of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta. The car gets a new lineup of engines including a 1.4-liter MultiAir turbo as well as a couple of Chrysler’s “Tigershark” four-cylinders. Three transmissions will be offered. We can assume that means
manual, automatic and dual-clutch. Like the Chevrolet Cruze and Ford Focus, the Dodge Dart will be built in the good ole’ U.S. of A at Chrysler’s Belvidere, Illinois plant.

Rumor on ttac has it that this little beast is going to have a 9 speed dual clutch something or other. Wouldn't this thing spend more time confused than in a decent gear?

The 3 transmissions:
3 speed slushbox
9 speed dual clutch
CVT
(Note: I pulled that out of my ass.)

I imagine they would be a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic, or a [7|9]-speed DCT.

The last two players lost 200 points on that one. Please remember to answer in the form of a question.

DORT?
It's been a full generation in car years since Dodge offered a compact sedan and even longer since the brand offered a truly competitive model in the segment. Considering that sedans represent about 85 percent of all retail compact-car purchases, the gap in Chrysler's lineup has been particularly glaring, the five-door hatchback Caliber notwithstanding.

They've got a full gallery and specs for the Dart right on dodge.com now. Looks like a Strateon - updated Stratus styling, Neon shape, and size halfway between the two.

I kinda like the styling...but that front end will probably look best in black.

Why does this remind me of the most recent Goat?
I'm having a bit of trouble attaching a rear 3/4 shot, but that's very much what this looks like.

From that angle, all I see is a resemblance to the Ford Focus.
