I had a 10 car lead with 5 to go. It was a 75 lap race riddled with cautions. I knew my car was fast, but I knew I had to conserve tires. I wasn't worried about getting passed early on, just so long as I could keep him within reach with 10 to go with tires left.

I can't watch it at work, but unfortunate that happened with 5 laps left. So, since I can't watch it, I imagine your car exploded upwards like your axels just got torn off. You walk away like it was nothing to some rock music and get the chick/dude/pizza/whatever at the end. In post editing, we'll add some lens flare and random lasers. Movie written.
