Gumball 3000

Post by Sypher »

Just wanted to share this with you guys. This is (suppose to be) the full Gumball 3000 rally documentry that was done in US a couple of years ago (i said suppose to be becuase the 2nd half of the video kinda has a few mins chopped off.. no i wasn't the one who uploaded it.. i just found it. Though I do know that the second half only contains about 40 mins or so becuase a friend of mine has the whole thing).

For those of you who don't know what the Gumball 3000 is, it is a cross country/cross continent street race. That's right; a street race. This even is held, I beleive, every couple of year (in fact a few years back i think it was across Europe). Many people from around hte world enters this race.

Becuase this is a street race, all the rule of the laws are implied, so if you are caught speeding by the fuzz's you will get pulled over. Let me state that this is no ordinary street race. This race comprises of cars of all sort; from a Mini Cooper to a Ferrari F50. To enter, I think I heard someone say it costs about 15 grand :o...

This is direct stream so no waiting for download is required.

so without further delay, here is the Gumball 3000. Enjoy :)

Check out the vids on the Team Polizei site: http://www.gumball144.com/Videobanken.html

In the 2005 Gumball the local police give the Polizei M5 an escort through Florence traffic at 100+ MPH.

I said this in another thread: I saw a yellow Ferrari Enzo with Gumball stickers headed in the other direction while I was on the freeway. I heard it before I saw it - it's a very distinctive sound.

Team Polizei re-did their car. http://www.speedsportlife.com/2006/04/2 ... olizei-m5/ It looks pretty sweet. I wouldn't mind hooking my Honda up with some of those gadgets.

I think SpikeTV has this special on BULLRUN (I think it's the American version of Gumball) on March something.

It would be fun pulling friends over for kicks, like Roy did to a Lambo in one of his videos. Hahahahahahahahahaha

It's not a race, it's a rally hence the name Gumball RALLY. BIG difference.

Yea, its like a 3000 mile roadtrip and they give you times to be in certain places. So basically, if you want to be there or be one of the people who finishes in time, you'll have to speed or give the wheel to your passenger too.

actually, you don't have to speed a whole lot.

I read an article in automobile or some car magazine, that said they made it to every pit stop on time in the bullrun, using an EVO, and they didn't get a single ticket. THey kept seeing the same dude in his ferrari F430. hed get way ahead, get pulled over, and they'd catch up to him, hed get ahead, get pulled over, and they'd pass him again, and they actually beat him to the finish, and he was either going 120 or 0, while they were going at a constant 80mph, occasinonally up to 100 when there was a reason to take a risk.

good tactic, but not fun at all mind you ... you can cruise at 80 and not pay such an outrageous amount of money to participate ... but if you do, then roll like ur running from the 5-0
