That is where laser jammers, radar detectors, and license plate covers (ones that prevent your plate from showing when pictures are taken from toll booths/redlight cameras) come in handy If you kick it up a notch, you can put police scanners and listen to what the police are up to.

+1 a few years back, there was 2 guys who took a Citreon CV2 to the gumball with a top speed of 60mph. They made every checkpoint RIGHT on time.. but that was with leaving earlier than everyone and being the last to arrive.

Also in 2005 I believe there was some people who took an ice cream van with a top speed of 50 mph - I'm not saying it was the pleasantest of trips for them (leave early, arrive late, almost no sleep), but it worked.

thats true. there was an article in a car mag a couople months ago, and they took a bentley I think, on a trip from new york tomiami. they mailed a package in fedex, and left after they dropped it off, and they did actually beat the package there, but they had infrared/night vision binoculars, radar jammers, radar detectros, everything, the whole 9 yards. It was several grand in equipment, along with needing a co-driver,but they did make it there before the package, without a single ticket, with an average speed of like 80mph, including time spent stopped. that was pretty cool.

or maybe you were just one of the guys who caught it, but there was a thing in the editorial section where they acknowledged they had put the wrong model car, and were written by someone telling them of their mistake.
