New guy from Michigan
Hi everyone, this is my first post here.
I learned how to drive a stick about ten months ago when I bought my first car, a 2001 Chevy S-10 2.2L 5-speed manual. I love driving it!

The 2.2L is a great engine. You would love a S-10. Make sure you buy the 4cyl/manual trans combo, the V6 is overkill for that truck in my opinion.dakota1820 wrote:The good ol 2.2 I sold my f150 but have been thinking of buying a s10 in the next year or so.

Yes, you can have a lot of fun with a small 4cyl manual transmission truck and still get great fuel economy!RomPirate wrote:Small truck + manual trans = WIN

Wilkommt euch bei Standard Shift!
The S10 Blazer (or was it just the Blazer by 1998) with the 4.3 is pretty hilarious. I like mine and it's not even all that powerful, all things considered.

Re: New guy from Michigan
For Sure. Like my 2.3L Ranger pickup. You can wind it out and lurch the vehicle on the 1-2 shift, have a blast and still not be going insanely fast. Just as much fun, a lot safer. Here in michigan the salt ususally destroys the truck long before the engine can wear out, so my philosophy is drive 'em hard. After all, you only get one shot at life, may as well enjoy it!RomPirate wrote:Small truck + manual trans = WIN
That S10 is one fine looking truck. Very sporty looking. Nice color. I like it. Want to sell it? I'll trade you a nice Ranger that has brand new clutch, pp, throwout, pilot, slave and master.
Stick shiftin since '77

Looks like he already has a Ranger, unless my eyes deceive me.InlinePaul wrote:For Sure. Like my 2.3L Ranger pickup. Welcome!
My eyes show that's a Ranger too, TnB. Someone seems to like small trucks...tankinbeans wrote:Looks like he already has a Ranger, unless my eyes deceive me.

Re: New guy from Michigan
Perhaps it is I and InlinePaul who have been smoking crack, but I see no indication that the OP of this thread or the person who InlinePaul quoted have Rangers. The truck in the first post of this thread is clearly a Chevy S10, both by the photos and description. RomPirate's sig says "97 Prelude 5spd swap FTW!" and his avatar is not a photo of his vehicle.Squint wrote:My eyes show that's a Ranger too, TnB. Look in the background, behind OP's red truck. Although it might not be OP's, because he said he bought his first truck.ClutchDisc wrote:

Re: New guy from Michigan
The ranger in the back behind my S-10 is my dad's (InlinePaul) Ranger. Guess we kinda confused everyone!

Well that was a decent twist. I'll give you all 8/10 for surprising us with that knowledge.ClutchDisc wrote:The ranger in the back behind my S-10 is my dad's (InlinePaul) Ranger. Guess we kinda confused everyone!
