Why are the roads out near Detroit rock city called 7 mile, 8 mile etc.?? It doesn't look to be the distance from the center of the city though it looks like it could correlate to that.

Check out these two links:

The distance isn't to the city center but to "the direct east–west portion of Michigan Avenue, and M‑153 (Ford Road) west of Wyoming Avenue [which becomes] the "zero mile" baseline." <-- from the second link

Yeah, they are kind of linked because the history really does help give a better explanation as to the design.

But they were both interesting. So I linked them both.

I had an R35 GT-R get behind me yesterday. It was dark out but I could see the shape of the headlights in the rear view mirror. I was thinking, "Hey, those kind of look like GT-R headlights. It probably isn't one, though." Then I had to get in the right turn lane and I took a peek as it passed on my left and it totally was a GT-R. It's actually the 4th or 5th time I've seen a GT-R around here over the last year or so.

Not sure if these are a few of the same ones, but I see one at least every 2 weeks around here. Probably would be more often if I actually paid attention to them.

I saw a new Corvette with a wing and front splitter with zebra camo on the front and rear ends. Must have been a ZR1 prototype.

I saw another Fisker Karma yesterday, about a quarter mile from where I saw the first one. A light blue color this time.

I saw yet another Fisker Karma two days ago  . A red one this time.

I also found out that Fisker went bankrupt in 2013, a Chinese company bought "some of the assets of the company, the designs, rights to a plug-hybrid powertrain and a manufacturing facility in Delaware" in 2016 and re-commenced production (as the Karma Revero), and there is a dealer nearby that sells them.
