Springtime In Sweden

Post by watkins »

Springtime in Sweden is an annual Saab car show held in memory of the Crisman brothers who were killed in a crash several years ago. One of the brothers, Kyle, was a huge fan of the 1988 special edition 900 convertible from which the show takes its name. His goal was to get one and restore it, though he never reached that goal before he died. His parents host the event on their property, and all proceeds go towards a scholarship in the brothers' name.

Some minor prep-work the day before the show:

Seats were out, and all the leather was polished with shoe polish.

Yeah, thats peanut butter being brushed onto the plastic trim. It works better than any other product Ive tried to date

Cleaned up dash

Headed down south a bit to meet up for a caravan north to the show. Our caravan of five had my 9-3 convertible, a 9-3 five door hatch, a three door Viggen, a 9-5 sportcombi, and a OG 900 SPG:

It was too damn hot out, so I only have a handfull of pictures, but more will be on their way from Masci, as he came with me.
As always, click makes big.

Precisely why it works so well. It does both wax removal and reconditioning in one quick step.

No. Theyre incredibly rare, and this was a small show. Only around 75 cars.

Thats small for a Saab show. Swedish Car Day in October generally has 150 or more Saabs, and maybe 100 Volvos.
