Recent VW GTG in Skokie, IL

Post by 94Corolla5Speed »

I was bored so I thought I'd snag some pics someone took at the recent GTG I was just at with a few of my pals yesterday. Green MKIII VR is my friend Adam's, black MKIV VR that's parked next to Adam's car is my friend Joey's, Grey MKV is my friend Chris's and the sweet white Audi is one of Adam's friend's, Adil.
Anyway, pics:

Again, photos are not mine, credit goes to a guy named Scott.

Someone uses his blue Rabbit as a truck...

I may use a Yak rack for the WV trip as well simply because I may be able to borrow one and it's gonna fit on my existing Yakima crossbar setup.

Nothing wrong with it. However, that particular guy you speak of shows up like this at every local VW event. I'm sure he doesn't use the rack as much as it seems.

I was giving him the benefit of a doubt, hoping that he didn't have it there as some sort of poser thing...

Then again, I would not know what he does with it on his own time. For all I know he could be using it just about every day but it's not too likely.

Well, he did say he was going camping this weekend; that's why he's not on his Phaeton rims either, he went back to his Rabbit wheels.

Heard a VR6 the other day for the first time in person (believe it or not); it was fantastic. I can see why you dubbers are usually so crazy about them.

Wow my camera phone actually seems decent compared to this guys. BTW the first 3 pics were taken by the owner of the dark blue Rabbit.

And yes, the VR6 makes a heavenly noise. There's a truck docking area around here where we sometimes go and play around with our cars. The echo in there is perfect, sometimes I just like to stand outside while he guns it and the Magnaflow'd VR6 just plays it's song...*drool*

Although I hate the wheels on it, that black Audi wagon looks so bad-ass.

meh. wheels are too small and too much stretch in the rear. audi's need big rims to look good IMO. plus its airbagged. fail. coilovers or go home...air is such a cop out.

FWIW, it's actually a really dark shade of blue. And yea, I wasn't digging it at first either, but the owner isn't a complete douchebag like you'd assume so, he's actually a really nice guy.

Ok, let me clarify: I don't really like what the guy has "done with it", but the car itself, in that particular color, looks awesome.
