The Detroit auto show, where previews begin 14 January, will have no shortage of special machinery on view.
But most of the lust-inducing exotica will be reserved for the Gallery – an invitation-only soiree held at the MGM Grand Detroit on the night of 12 January. BBC Autos managed to sneak a camera behind the scenes to capture the load-in as it unfolds.

Re: Gallery at MGM Grand sneak peak
I've heard before that there were two auto shows in town each year, with one being open to the general public but that the other was was by invitation only.
I thought the other article link on that page was more interesting:
http://www.bbc.com/autos/story/20130109 ... uy-diesels
They really didn't explore the economic side of why diesels make more sense in Europe. The reader's digest version would be: The payback on the investment takes many years longer in North America.
