I just like to watch it. Those were gifts and I'm glad to have them but I'd never have bought them.
They are real metal. The Bat'leth is serious business, no question about it, and the d'k tahg probably is too but I'm not sure about its metal quality or the mechanism inside.

Then someone thought you were enough of a Trekkie to appreciate those gifts. And because of you bringing up that yesterday, I spent far too long at Memory Alpha over the course of the day.

Yup, my wife...but that was as much a reflection of her as it was of me. Hooray nerds!

I didn't know I wanted this until someone else posted it in a "what is your holy grail knife?" thread on AR15.com. Jaws is my favorite movie ever and I'm a big fan of edged weapons, I don't know why I never put two and two together before. Unfortunately, I hear they're hard to find and are expensive when they do show up. I'll be on the lookout.

Anyway, I completely forgot to post this. I've had this little guy for a couple weeks now. Very cool little knife.
This is a Folts Minimalist. Wharncliffe blade 2" in length. Micarta handles. Forget the type of steel, but I know it's fairly soft and isn't top of the line (while still being quality), but this knife wasn't designed for heavy duty work. The sheath has a belt attachment and can be carried on the belt if needed, however, this is primarily a neck knife. Knife AND sheath weigh a total of 1.6oz. It's pretty light.

...however, this is primarily a neck knife...
I didn't know they made knives specifically for necks. I guess it does make for a good throat slasher.
It's not a self defense knife, not at all.
The blade is close to the size of a utility blade, and blade geometry is the same, essentially, as both use a wharncliffe shape. The wharncliffe shape makes it especially good at light utility work, tip cutting and slicing. The straight cutting edge makes it a wicked slicer, much like a utility blade.
I have a SOG Flash-II that I absolutely love. Assisted open, great build quality, thoughtful features, awesome looks.
It used to be my EDC, but it serves as my primary camping knife as well, and has dulled with a few years' use. I don't carry it daily anymore because I haven't sent it back to get sharpened yet, but I'm planning to get that handled soon.
