Central TX Mini-Meet

Post by mtheis »

As many of you know, Tony came down to Austin last weekend...

I got my rifle ready and leveled the scope.

Tony shoots his Remington 870.

The result of getting my scope zeroed in.

There is a video that goes along with this picture that I'll upload a bit later. Hilarity ensues.

Where are all the pictures of me? Well, there aren't any. I was having too much fun to care. Maybe next time...

When's the upper Midwest meet, dagburnit!? We can all come up with car related screen names like ClutchDisc and InlinePaul have. Tankinbeans would drive tho Wisconsin, reluctantly.

We could all stand outside, drinking some bottles of beer and getting our lips frozen to the bottles.

Looks fun! I look forward to seeing the Celica video.

Just out of curiousity, where were you guys shooting at? Public land? Private property? Range?

It was at an outdoor range near my house. I also took a short video while we were there, but it was starting to get dark and you couldn't see much except for the muzzle blast.

Man, after an 84* Sunday down in Austin, I had to pull out my winter coat and gloves again this morning when I went to walk Jack. 34* and windy, wind chill of 18*.

What the hell, winter. What the hell.

School was closed today here for 1/4" of light powder snow and vaguely slick roads. It was 60 over the weekend. The weather is ADHD.

You don't expect KY to do a lot better in snow than GA, do you? Considering what happened, it makes sense to avoid that.

We usually do better than Georgia, though not substantially so. I think we were all confused when school was canceled. They originally just delayed school for an hour, then canceled it a couple of hours later (7 am-ish).

I've been relatively impressed this winter with how well people have driven overall, though obvious exceptions occur. There was a day where some ice had melted but left behind black ice and people just went nuts thinking the roads were clear. There were dozens of accidents just in the morning commute according to the radio station to which I was listening.
