My MK5 GTI is here!

Post by Perpetuus »

Well, yes and no, but I cannot be anymore excited than today...after being car-less for 4 months. My car arrived at the dealer late today, so I think I should have it within the next few days, can't wait! Luck would also have it that today is my birthday. =) Will post pics soon!

I ordered mine in candy white, which is quite a radical change from my previous black car. The dealer just confirmed that I could pick it up this Saturday. :D

Oh yes, I had to unpimp it to sell the parts (purely functional parts though). We had a set of coilovers, camber mounts, swaybars, and revised suspension pick up points (for shifting the front roll-center) at the front using an aftermarket set of spindles. Still got the parts here because I've been too busy to find a buyer. The new car is going to be sweet, but I still miss my old car. =(

And it's going to be a MT of course, I had my fair share of fun with tiptronic-type gearboxes already. Plus, better upgrade potential. ;)

And another shot, before I got the turbo badges for my front doors.

Sweet, I like your old car too.

There was a what appeared to be stock black Jetta station wagon whooping ass at the autocross I went to this last weekend. I have a 20AE GTI and he was consistently beating me by 5 seconds. Just goes to show the driver>car.

Just came in this morning.. too bad the roads are dirty and icy though. But wow, I love the car. =)

It looks even more aggressive without the front license plate (similar to in the pics I am posting), but it looks like I need to have the front plate.

Sweet looking car.

I loved the commercials for it. Did it come with a "Fast" toy thing that was in the commercial?

Not yet, but they said they'll mail it to me soon. However, the salesman did give me a little fast keychain for now.

It's actually kind of cool.
