1/4 mile times good or bad?

So I looked it up online and my car runs 16.8 or so stock in the 1/4 mile. Is that bad cause reviews say that's quick for a car in it's class. What does everyone's car run it in stock?

16.8 is average for an economy car. On whether that is bad or not, that depends on what your expectations are. Quarter mile times are not an accurate way to measure real-world performance, unless all you do in the real world is drag, lol.

Mine does 14 flat on average.

Never bothered to look. I'd have to calculate how long a quarter mile is anyways... 400 metres?

22 seconds with a tailwind.

And yeah, it's like 402 meters.

If it were a Mustang, it would be disappointing. As an economy car, it's very much respectable. It's probably faster than both of mine.

Yea thats not bad.

I was surprised that my Escort ZX2 ran 15s considering it was 130hp.

My GTO by car mag standards stock is 13.3, but many GTO owners come from Mustang/Camaro rides with live axles and the GTO has an IRS, so some launch changes are in order. I haven't taken her to SAR yet but once I get new tires I may (right now im on all seasons which are fun for hitting the gas whilst turning but not for drag).

Tires will help out alot on the strip.

Yeah I read that those ZX2's do 7.5 second 0-60mph!!! I had no idea they were that quick. Celica GT-S's with 180hp do 7.5 second 0-60 and 200hp Honda Preludes do about the same. The 220hp Mazda6S does 7.5 second 0-60mph with slush. That's pretty impressive indeed. What a little pocket rocket.

It's about average ... my car is about the same. It never concerned me that much ... I have my fun in the occasional twisty.

That reminds me: I have to inflate my tires; apparently the recommended 32psi isn't cutting it. I did a bit of spirited driving the other day and my sidewalls looked like I ran my wheels down a curb ... 40psi here I come.

low 15's quarter mile
high 6's/low 7's 0-60 mph

btw, high 16's is respectable for a so-called compact economy car. keep in mind the civics and 'rollas have a hard time coming close to breaking into the 16's :)

Good Site for 1/4 mile and 0-60 mph times

True, but man that ZX2 came out of left field didn't it? My mom used to have a 1998 ZX2 slushie years ago and I had no idea how quick those cars are. I wish I would have bought one since they go for like $2,000 now. 16.4 second 1/4 mile ain't too shabby for my car but the ZX2 is in the 15's.
