Recall that those quick ZX2 times are probably with a manual. However, they are zippy little cars - my brother has the automatic with 100+lbs of stereo equipment in it and that 2.0L I4 really moves.

I can't find my times, but I'd imagine its close to 17-18 seconds. can anyone find it for a 98 mustang 5mt?

nah. but they do have the 95 V6 numbers:

yea in college during my reckless years I raced a bud of mine back and forth from school against his 2002 Dodge Stratus w/ 150 horses

Always blew by him. Another guys 2002 Grand Prix GT with 200 horses was pretty even, he'd edge out near 100 though, not a bad pace for 70 less ponies.

I know the 98 has a few more horses than the earlier ones. I think I read that if you drive it right, the stick can get to 60 in just under 9 seconds. I want to get a stop watch and time myself one time. it wont be real accurate, but should be pretty close. The mustangforusm said there was one guy who got like an 8.3 0-60 time, but he was a proffesional racer, probably power shifting and stuff like that.

Mine is supposed to run low 15's high 14's, with a 0-60 of like 8's. Thats what I read awhile back...but I haven't tracked it...yet My new tires should help tho.

yep, that's 0-60 and 1/4 mile in that order

damn, I got pretty close to a 9.9 0-60 today with a crappy launch and terrible shift points.

The old school V-dub beetles did 25 second 0-60 or something like zzzat.

My car is a 7.0-7.4 second 0-60 and is supposed to run low 15s.My grandfather's drag car on the other hand is supposed to run high 6s low7s in the 1/4,of course its not street legal though,his car will be down the quarter before i hit 60 lol

Heres how I personally break it down,I guess...

15.5 and slower= slow economy car

14.5 to 15.4= quick, decently sporty cars

13 to 14.4= your starting to get fast

10 to 12.9= you are officially fast

9.9 and faster= you are officially a god of the drag strip

my car runs 15.6 stock. my best time is 15.1 at 96 which means it has low 14s in it with a good launch.

heres the commonly agreed breakdown of fastness around here

9 and faster = baller as f**k, especially if its daily driven
10-11 = fast
12-13 = quick
14+ = slow

My car does the standing mile in nine minutes. But I have a lot of red lights to contend with.

Old FC - 16-17? maybe? IDK.
New FC - Quick (assuming the track is downhill)
