The Mean Green Machine
Just realized I've never whored my many-named car (Corolla, The Mean Green Machine, Brianna, the little Rollasarus) Here it is!
(has 146,855 now)
115 beasty horses! And 115 lbs of gut busting torque!
When I first got it, I gutted the interior to clean it.
The infamous sig pic; regular size
Back when I had my Kumho Powershits
Enjoy!

Clean interior. Did you put those seats back in?
Why do you have a honda plate frame and plate?

because honda frame is what gives him the power to shit on SHOs and give him amazing traction on 185s and amazing handling.
clean corolla. its a good DD, dont try to make it a race car.

Hey, I recognize that shifter and gauge cluster.
Your car is so much cleaner than mine, though. Makes me feel lazy!

When my box wouldn't start last weekend, my friend lend me his Corolla, the car that I taught him to drive in. It wouldn't have been my choice, but after not driving it for so long, it was a pleasant experience.
It has a slick shifter, communicative clutch, close ratio spacing, all those things that I would love to have in my box.

Thanks for the compliments I do what I can in terms of cleanliness. Yes, I did put the seats back, and the Honda plate frame is because I bought it from a Honda dealership. Lol Roman, I'm gonna keep this a stock DD, hoping to get a Miata and have fun with that in college.

Yea I love the gearbox. The ratios are perfectly spaced, and I personally like the stiff clutch. The shifter is also smooth as butter.scionkid wrote:When my box wouldn't start last weekend, my friend lend me his Corolla, the car that I taught him to drive in. Woo triple post. I've toyed with that idea for some time now. 160HP in a car that weighs 2315 LBS. is a very nice thing. It costs too much for me right now though, so I think, as I said in an earlier post, I'll just keep this one and have a Miata to play with.Bawked wrote:20v blacktop 4age swap and u'll kill romans car and mine

hasn't it got a 4afe in it right now? plug and play pretty much just the annoying wiring to do.

7A-FE actually, not much else but 10 more hp and 115 lbs of torque. It honestly doesn't feel as slow as I though it would when I bought it. I guess the man trans and low weight make it feel fairly peppy for a small car.Bawked wrote:hasn't it got a 4afe in it right now? plug and play pretty much just the annoying wiring to do.

Re: The Mean Green Machine
Back in the peak days for Toyota and Honda from the I perspective.
Black plastic surfaces with simple, effective controls. No fake silver painted plastic, no odd dash designs, and windshields upright enough to give good sight lines.
Solid steering, brakes and shift feeling.
Definitely the type of cars that easily hit 100K+. Kind of miss those days!

Exactly. This is my favorite generation of the Corolla, simple design, clean flowing lines, pleasing interior, easy to repair, easy to drive and just all around an awesome first car. Love this thing, don't ever want to get rid of it!

That first picture reminds me of something I saw in an adult film once upon a time.
Pretty car!
