I also own page 2, haha
Nice Saab, I like them, for FWD's they're really unique cars. A friend of mine has a 9-3 and he let me drive it, I've liked them ever since. The turbo felt very small though. That's why you need a gt35r or gt42r lol.
Re: RITmusic2k's 2000 Saab 9-3 Viggen
I drove a nice 94 9-3 Turbo 5spd convertible at work and it was a pretty nice car. It had decent acceleration and didn't sound half bad. I tried fixing the dash lights though and decided then and there to never attempt doing it again... it was the biggest PITA ever the way they assembled that car. Nice car to drive but not to fix.
Nice car BTW

'94 would be a 900, not a 9-3.
And theyre really easy to work on and fix, but it takes a different kind of mechanic since everything is done in a different, Swedish way. If you have little knowledge on Saabs, theyre hell to work on.

9-3 SEs and Viggens come with a larger turbo which flows sufficiently up to 280hp or 290hp applications... so I don't need to change it out quite yet...Tinton wrote:The turbo felt very small though. That's why you need a gt35r or gt42r lol.

Yeah, I suppose. It never really bothered me since it wasn't the entire turn signal assembly, but... yeah. I should.

Since you have the smoked sides you need to. It only takes a few minutes a side once the lights are out. I did it to the convertible. No chance Ill do it to the Viggen. I like the orange with the blue too much

That's a really nice car . I really like that Saab body style over the ones after that. Don't see too many of em' around here. My friend had a few and he loved every single one of them. My cousin also has a Saab, but I don't know which one though. Once he comes back up here, I'm gonna borrow it now that I can drives a standard.
2000 Honda Civic Si- Slightly faster than your grandmomma's grocery getter......slightly.

Carmen's going under the knife tomorrow; I just dropped her off at Right Solution (L.A.'s Saab Mecca) with a handful of parts, most notably a lightweight flywheel, new pressure plate and 6-puck clutch
My loaner car is a fancy silver 9-3 SE 5-door, with an automatic transmission. I gotta say, this whole "let the car shift for you" thing is really gonna catch on. I might just let them keep the Viggen and drive this for the rest of the year. Either that, or I'll have gone absolutely bonkers trying to figure out what to do with my left leg between now and tomorrow evening. I haven't slammed on the double-wide brake pedal while going for the clutch yet, though, so I guess that's a plus

If you have the money, you should totally buy a Lincoln Continental or something. A big automatic boat for comfort and the Viggen for fun. You can scoop up a used Lincoln for like $3,000.RITmusic2k wrote: I might just let them keep the Viggen and drive this for the rest of the year.

My mechanic just emailed me pictures of my transmission drain plug. LOTS of filings. I guess none more than should be expected, but he also suggested I reflush my tranny fluid in 1,000 miles and again at 5,000 to get every last bit of the old crypt-keeper's-blood-looking fluid outta there. I can't wait to pick up my car!
EDIT:
He says that the new trans. fluid will really improve the shifting feel; Carmen felt just like Carla before her did, so it never really occurred to me that I had a problem. There were no chunks of metal, which is a good sign. I'll also have the final uprated/reinforced motor and transmission mount installed when I get it back. I'm a short-shifter away from making this thing a screaming piece of metallic sex.

Yeah, but I definitely wasn't being serious about enjoying the auto.ElectroGhandi wrote:If you have the money, you should totally buy a Lincoln Continental or something. But... it would be cool to have one of those old Mercury Grand Marquis from the 80s - rear wheel drive and 25' long... problem is, I know I'd still get in the Vig every time I needed to go for a drive.
