I totally get the point of lowering a car. I just wouldn't enjoy the hassle of crawling my ass over every little bump like a humpbacked granny with a flower in her bonnet and a walker keeping her ass off the ground.

Furthermore, in this town, you crawl over railroad tracks, one of four things is going to happen:
A. Mofo behind you is visible in your rearview being pissed and/or cursing you and wishing you'd die.
B. Mofo behind you is honking his horn like a toolbag, and proceeds to piss off every pedestrian within a mile.
C. Mofo behind you decides he's going to pass you, despite the oncoming traffic, and barely avoids causing a pileup.
D. Here comes the most anal retentive, backward ass po-po in town to find out why the hell you're holding up traffic or some pointless bullshit.

Unfortunately, most of the tracks in this town are out of use and shut down, so everybody and their grandmother flies over them at 35 mph or more and doesn't look back.

I drive slowly over rough terrain even in stock cars. I take care of my things; don't really give two shits if someone can't take the extra 3 seconds for me to go over a bump.

Yes. If I fly over them they're a lot less painful than if I come to almost a stop...but it's annoying waiting behind folks who don't want to destroy their wheel bearings.

all you gotta do is get over in the right lane and flash your brake lights a few times before the train tracks. if they rearend you, you arent gonna miss out on anything. youll get your car fixed, or in my case, ill go buy a new car.

or you just know which train tracks you dont have to slow donw for and which ones need continental drift speeds to not tear off the subframe off the car.

driving a lowered car with stiff suspension does amazing things to your road memory. before you even realize, you remember where the bumps are and where the dips and raises are before you come up on them. then your one of those people lane jumping like a drunk trying to drive around the potholes. you are familiar with every mid corner bump in town and how much those bumps upset the cars balance thru the turn, you know to not rice onto your street because theres a some huge invisible bump in the road a foot past the apex of the turn which will send you sideways a few feet if you hit it fast enough. its not there, you cant see it. you cant see shadows casting off of it, you sure as shit cant feel it in a regular car. then you get in my car and it feels like you are running over a tree laying in the road.

but then again, a regular car cant keep up with me going a casual 90 thru turns rated for 40.

Being blind does amazing things to your memory, hearing, and sense of smell...but I think I'll keep my eyesight, and my ability to choose to run over stuff.

Then I put it in winter mode; raised it up in the front and put it on steelies with snow tires (no snow yet though):


Rolled over 190k (sorry, I wasn't going 190mph to celebrate ... )


That's about it; might be picking up some new wheels in the next few days ... photoshop below

17x7.5 et35 all around; I have 10mm spacers that are on the front with my steelies that I'd run in the back ... with those wheels and spacers, the front would sit 6mm more flush and rear 4mm compared to the summer setup now; I'm liking the idea ... we'll see what happens.

edit: Oh yeah, also getting biblical gas mileage; it has actually improved since I got it. Never dips below 27 now, and for the most part I'm in the 29 range ... got 32 once all highway
