Can you really fit 285's up front? That's pretty beastly compared to what my SN95 was capable of, something like a 245 is the widest you could have up front without rubbing
Thanks man.
You can run some monsters on the S197 Mustang. But, if you're running big tires in the front, it helps to have caster/camber plates installed, especially if lowering the car a bit (and pretty much anyone bothering to put tires that large on all four corners will be adding c/c plates due to changing out the struts too.) There are S197 guys with ten-inch wide front wheels running 305s in front, but that takes a bit of massaging that I'm not up for. And a lot of money that I don't have.
That said, I did misspeak/mistype. I'll be going 275/40/18s, possibly 275/35/18s, due to greater tire choices, tire affordability, and to avoid rubbing.

So I bought wheels quite some time ago, time finally for some monster tires!

I will probably only be running these on the rears until I buy some suspension stuff to be able to fit them better on the front without rubbing (caster/camber plates, struts, shocks, adjustable panhard bar for the rear).

I planned on getting 275/40/18s, but these were on sale through Vulcan Tire for $59 each ($76 each including shipping and valve stems) and I couldn't pass them up.

Waiting to receive my extra TPMS sensors, sensor mounting bands, and the sensor resetter tool thing from AmericanMuscle.com before getting them mounted. Will get two mounted and see how they fit/look. If they are too big/awkward, I can sell them on the Mustang forum pretty easily. If not, will probably end up buying some smaller tires for the front that match up well, diameter-wise.

Dude, awesome price on the meats! I was buying tires for my old truck back in the day and the cheapest I saw was $120 for each for a 33x12.5 tire. That's basically a 305-wide - not too much wider than what you have there, sir.

Thanks! It is good at holding garbage, and it isn't pretty, but it reminds me of a Dalek. It smells terrible. Not because it's full, but rather the plastic is just permanently infected with garbage juices.

They are squishy. Tread rating=200. So four of them will last about as long as two normal tires.

$120 is still a great price for a tire that size. I could've bought 315-35-18s for $59 too, but I would need new wheels for them.

All the $59 tires are sold out, but there are still some cheap ones on the site if anyone's interested. Let me know if you are wondering about what kind of accessories you should wear to golf events, as well. Thas wuz good, Standardshift.
