My 2010 Toyota Corolla S (56K Warning)

Post by Roymond »

Hello!

I found this site by basically googling Manual Transmission tips. I've only driven a stick a handful of times, obviously enough times for me to feel confident I can get around and not be completely stranded, and I was in the market for a new car.

I decided on July 5th, 2009 to buy this brand new just off the truck Toyota Corolla S. I love it so far.

This is it when on July 5th, just after taking it for a test drive.

Just after we got it home.

And my parents made me do the whole standing in front of it thing.

Anyways I hope to spend a little more time here on the forums picking up more tips and tricks. I can't wait to get out of work and drive it around enjoying it some more.

Congratulations on your new car. Welcome to the forum.

What are your goals/priorities? Are you more interested in driving fast? Saving gas? Racing properly? Driving smoothly?

My goals are to ultimately just drive smoothly and to enjoy the ride.

I always hated driving automatics, it got boring and I always got caught up in other things. I started to love a manual transmission when I was riding my motorcycle. Not only did you have to pay attention to the road, you'd also have to pay attention to the feel of the bike. I actually started driving a manual transmission car maybe about 3 months ago on and off, whenever my friends didn't want to drive their cars. (Mainly happened with my girlfriend in which we would drive around Massachusetts and RI and our trips would be 2-4 hours one way) Thankfully it was the same way, I just started to enjoy it all together.

Thanks for the welcome too :-)

Sweet 'Rolla. :). if you test drove the XRS, I think you'd be driving that ;). But either way, you'll have fun driving manual.

Nice car, I love the blue, Toyota really pulled that one off. And +1 for another Corolla owner!

I actually used to work at the Enfield Circuit City before it went under. My parent's house is in Wilbraham, Mass but let's be honest I live there maybe one month a year (I go to school in Amherst at the University of Massachusetts, and have living there more and more)

Welcome! Great car choice. It's a great looking car for the price and is at the pinnacle of reliability as far as cars go.

I could only access a few pics from my phone earlier. But now that I'm on my PC, that thing is really nice lookin'. I test drove an '04 S and I thought that was nice. But they really did a good job on the interior with the one you have IMO. I don't know if anyone knows this or not, but what's with the rubber piece on the rear bumper by the trunk?

Nice car, terrible hat.

Congrats on the Corolla. Looks great in that color! I had the opportunity to "own" one for 2 days as a loaner when I had my tC in the shop, and it was a comfy ride (too bad it was an auto  )

We can be bestest friends. I worked at the RI CC before the company went under.

My fiancee just graduated from UMass. Not that it matters, but whatever.
