six's 2004 Ford CVPI P71
So, for those who don't know the story...
I used to have a 2006 Mazdaspeed6 GT, which was the sole reason why I became a member of SS... To make a long story short, I sold it and bought a Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. The MS6 is in good hands... the new owner is an enthusiast and is putting the MS6 to good use, probably racing it around a track as we speak...
Here is my 2004 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (CVPI), P71 package. Here is a list of all the "stuff" P71s have...
- Tuned drivetrain (higher engine idle-speed, firmer shifts, fuel-mapping changes)
- Heavy duty suspension, brakes, battery, wheels, frame, and engine cooling system
- External oil, transmission, and steering fluid coolers
- 200-amp alternator
- Factory wiring power points
- Front and rear stabilizer bars
- 3.27-ratio rear axle
- Stainless-steel true dual exhaust without resonators
- Mine includes a rear battery box in the trunk for a second battery, prewired
It is Black (although future plans will change this color), with a dark charcoal interior. Cleanest one I've found, as you will see in the pics. Rips out of the hole and never backs down until 135 MPH.
Many wonder why I would make such a drastic decision, trading a tuned turbo AWD sports-sedan for an automatic boat on wheels. The main reason was $. The other reason, coming in at a close second, is that I am a police car enthusiast, and after years of building and collecting die-cast replicas of police cars around the country, nothing beats driving a life-size 1:1 version.
Enough with the talk. Below are some pics. I plan on making appearance changes soon, so more pics will follow in the coming weeks.
97000 miles
Dark Charcoal interior
Cloth backseat! (My preference... don't really like vinyl...)
Two spotlights

swap in a 6 speed!
but really, i like it. although for money-wise, you could've probably gotten a cheaper\more efficient car...but since your an enthusiast of the cars, ill make an exception. good find though, looks very clean and pretty well taken care of. what has been replaced on the car?

As Paul Harvey used to say...."And now for the rest of the story"
I formerly worked as the local dog warden. When the truck was in for service, I was assigned a marked or unmarked cop car to drive. That had good and bad points. Good points were putting on a blue dress shirt and pulling your buddy over in front of his house. Bad points were that folks drove 5 or 10 under the speed limit in front of you and you could NEVER get anywhere quickly. Oh yeah, I almost forgot...dogs loved going for a ride in a car, even if there was a cage between me and them and puppies found a way around the cage by crawling under the bench seat and coming out by my feet.

I don't really know what you meant by the question, so I'll assume it is referring to maintenance. Standard oil, lube, filter, plus transmission fluid, spark plugs, and radiator flush. New battery.LHOswald wrote:what has been replaced on the car?

Dont forget the new rear seats!
They once were vinyl with cutouts for cuffed wrists to fit behind arrested people as they sat

I think it's time to swap out those steelies for some alloys. Or at least get them powdercoated.

You dont put alloys on a cop car. A cop car MUST have steelies

Re: six's 2004 Ford CVPI P71
Thanks for the comments.
@Alfa5spd and watkins: I'm got the wheel covers on order. They are the 03-05 style wheel covers. I'm going for a more FBI-style look to the vehicle, and trying to make it look less like a police car. Going to take out the passenger-side spot light, too.
@Ashish: No, no shotgun rack LOL. Nothing was left, actually. They even took out the ticket light. The spotlights were the only remnants of its copdom.

Re: six's 2004 Ford CVPI P71
Does you car have any shadows from stickers on doors?
I once drove an unmarked car that was a former marked car. It was cop-car blue with a white roof with band-aids over the light bar wiring holes, shadows of police badge stickers on both front doors and a fake, cast police radio antenna made to resemble a retracted telescoping car radio antenna. I bet it fooled lots of people.
