I have one of those too. I wouldn't go so far as to say I hate it and I want it to die in a fire, but it is pretty stupid. I always see "U/S" pop up on my dash when I'm cruising at 40 mph in 4th gear.wannabe wrote:its a 5sp ford escort with a shift light...the shift light can go DIAF! dislike majorly.

The convertible had a shift up light. The Viggen does not. Intentionally. I honestly stopped noticing the light after a few weeks though.

Re: wannabe's escort :)
my buddies does too. there is 1 serious problem in that car for him...its too damn quiet. he never looks as his tach so he always shifted when he thought the engine was revving to high. that thing at 6 grand sounds like what my truck sounds like when the engine is off and the heat is on high...watkins wrote:The convertible had a shift up light. I shift based on speed. I dont look at gauges. I just know my car well enough to judge gear/speed relationships

Not many people shift by looking at the gauges. If I try to do that I'd probably mess up anyway.
