Actually, can you even get an SRT8 challenger with a manual? Last I checked, you couldn't get a Magnum SRT8 or 300 SRT8 with one, and they're all the same drivetrain...

The two top models of the challenger (R/T and SRT8) come with a manual but you have to pay extra for it as part of a "sports package". The two base models (SE and SXT) only come in auto.

Yeah I made a thread on it a while ago because my dad was looking into buying a challenger but wanted a manual in it. I think Chrysler really butchered that one. Why should I pay extra for something that costs the company less.

Because it's a SPORTS PACKAGE DUHHHH! haha. Nah but seriously it shows that the car manufacturer is not European but American. If Ferrari started charging more for making their cars Manual I don't think that would be beneficial to their income.

To be fair, at least on the R/T, for the $1,000 you pay for the Track Pack that includes the manual transmission (Tremec 6-speed), you also get a differently tuned 5/7 liter with a little more HP and torque (okay only about six of each), more aggressive rear gears (3.73 instead of something super wimpy, don't recall) and a limited slip differential. Party time.

It's not that it's just the concept of paying more to get less. Even though I'd rather have a manual than an automatic.
